What You Need to Know About the Throat Chakra

Uncategorized Jan 08, 2022

Now you have a basic understanding of what Charka's do from the previous 2 blogs.  Caring for our Chakras is part of self-care, as it relates to the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies that surround and are a part of us, known as our aura.

The Throat Chakra is known as Vishuddha and is represented by the symbol below.

Throat Chakra Purpose

Speaking Truth

Communication

Expressing Self

What kind of clues do we have whether our  Throat Chakra is out of balance?

Physical problems:

  • Sore throat
  • Laryngitis; deafness
  • Tooth decay
  • Gum problems
  • TMJ
  • Cervical problems of the neck.
  • Nasa or sinus irritation
  • Jaw pain
  • Ear, voice or neck issues
  • Ailments with esophagus or tonsils
  • Problems sleeping
So what can you do to resolve or lesson the effects of the above?  Start by opening up your Throat Chakra.  How can you do this beyond the use of Crystals?

First start with an open mind and consider the following.   Remember in the Spirit World, it all comes back to your intention, so intend for these methods to work for you!
  • Make positive predictions about your future - Invoke the Law of Attraction, by telling yourself a "new story" about your life, and follow up with affirmations to cement these thoughts into the reality of your life.
  • Stop being critical and judgemental - just for one day refrain from saying (and thinking) anything negative about another.   Remember the Law of Attraction and what you are drawing into YOUR life by thinking and talking about others...hhhmm.
  • Join Toastmasters to get a handle on public speaking and at the same time improve your confidence in your speaking ability.  This is a win for everyone, especially those who you communicate with.
  • Sing like no one is listening, you will be surprised at how liberating this is.  It actually warms up the vocal cords as well and prepares you to speak clearly.
  • Breath into your belly and let your shoulders drop.  Do you recognize how often you squeeze those shoulders up to your neck?  Take a deep breath, and exhale slowly with the intention to release tension in your neck and shoulders.
  • Let out a big "aaaahhhhh" as you exhale, as a reminder you have a voice!
  • When appropriate, like when someone is yelling at you, respond with silence.  Meeting them on the same level of yelling will get you nowhere.  Better  yet, use  Active listening techniques (repeating back their thoughts and feelings in your own words), and you will be amazed at how quickly the situation can de escalate.
  • Challenge yourself to open up by sharing or expressing something to a trusted friend  that you would not normally reveal.
  • If you have a difficult situation to deal with, practice saying things in advance.  This will help you if you are in the habit of backing down, and letting others walk over you.

If you are a person who has difficulty expressing your needs, please give some of the above tips a chance.  You will never know the power you have within to influence others if you keep it inside.  Love yourself enough to speak your truth.

Remember too, there is nothing wrong with asking for, or seeking help.  If you need a coach to get you through any difficult times, please contact Rebecca directly at [email protected] to inquire about coaching / consulting sessions, or click on the "consulting quotation" in the footer below.
